NINA DODGE ABRAMS Nina Dodge Abrams has been a family
law attorney for the past 28 years. She is originally from Flint, Michigan and received her
BBA, AMLS and MBA from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctor from Loyola
University of Chicago, School of Law. She worked as a librarian for almost 10 years before
practicing law.
In her practice, Ms. Abrams handles divorce, child custody and
support, property issues, guardianships and paternity. She frequently serves as a mediator
for family law cases and as a hearing officer for the State of Michigan Discipline Board. She
is an experienced litigator and practices all forms of alternate dispute resolution
techniques, including collaborative law.
Ms. Abrams served as an officer and/or board member of the State
Bar of Michigan Family Law Council, Women Lawers of Michigan, the Women Lawyers
Foundation, Michigan Council for Family and Divorce Mediation, Michigan Inter-
professional Association and Oakland County Bar Association Family Court Mediation
Committee. She is active in the American Bar Association Family Law Section and is a
member of the Elder Law Section. In addition, she serves on the OCBA Alternative Dispute
Resolution Committee and the Family Court Committee. She has served on numerous
committees in the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. Ms.

AMY YU
Amy A. Yu has been a family law attorney since 1997. Originally
from Ann Arbor, Ms. Yu graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan with
a BS in Nursing. She worked as a critical care nurse for ten years before going to law
school. Her nursing background has provided her with specialized knowledge and a
unique outlook, which she applies to her family law cases.
Ms. Yu graduated from the University of Detroit Law School in 1996
Magna Cum Laude and was admitted to practice in the State of Michigan in 1996. She
began her career working on immigration cases. She further has experience working at
the US Attorney's Office. Her practice now consists primarily of divorce, paternity, child
custody and child support. She is an experienced litigator as well as part of the
collaborative law community.
Ms. Yu is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, State
Bar of Michigan Family Law Section, where she has been a council member from 2003 to
the present, the American Bar Association (Family Law Section and on the Adoption
Committee), Collaborative Law Institute of Michigan, Michigan Interprofessional
Association, the Women's Lawyers Association and Michigan Trial Lawyer's Association.
Ms. Yu is a frequent speaker and author for the Family Law Section
of the State Bar of Michigan and a contributing editor to the Institute of Continuing Legal
Education, Family Law Handbook 6th Edition, Chapter on Immigration and Family Law.
